Introduction

Welcome to our website about air mattresses. Here you will find a large range of information on choosing and buying the right air mattress for you. With such a wide range of types and brands to choose from, it sometimes can be confusing as to which one you should select. Our aim is to make the process of buying a new air bed quick, simple and easy.

A comfortable and compact spare bed is essential for when guests stay over or you decide to go camping. Unfortunately, it is not always ideal to use a roll away, trundle or sofa bed for unexpected guests, holiday homes or caravans. Perhaps you are short on space, need something easy to travel with or you find the common spare bed options uncomfortable. In situation such as this, air mattresses can be a solution by being comfortable, easy to use, travel-easy and compact.

Twin Air Mattress

A twin size air mattress will usually be 39 inches wide and 75 inches long. Most will weigh in the vicinity of 10 pounds. Also known as a single mattress, they are usually used by one person. Alternatively, they are large enough to fit two small children. However, when choosing whether a twin sized mattress is ideal you should not only consider the height or number of people who will be using it – it is also important to consider the size of the room that the mattress will be inflated in. When inflated, there should be enough room for a person to get on and off the mattress without bumping into furniture or walls.

The Various Brands

There are three main brands of twin air beds that you can buy:

Aerobed Twin Air Mattress

Areobed is probably the best known brand of air beds. While they may be more expensive than other types of air mattresses, they are well known for their quality and durability.

The Areobed twin air bed inflates in 60 seconds and deflates rapidly in 15 seconds, has puncture resistant PVC vinyl, easy to pack and unpack, and comes with a compact travel bag. Due to its interior coil construction, it is well known for being comfortable, supportive and easy to adjust to your personal preferences – a great choice for overnight guests, slumber parties and dorm rooms.

Coleman Twin Air Mattress

Coleman is a company that tends to target campers and therefore their air beds are less expensive and not as comfortable as Areobed.

The Coleman twin camping air mattress is not as good as the more expensive brands of air mattresses but for the price that it sells for it is very reasonable. It has puncture resistant PVC with a soft suede top for further comfort. Inside there is a 32 inner coils. They are very easy to inflate and deflate, light and very compact when not in use for easy storage.

Intex Twin Air Mattress

Intext is one of the cheap brands of air beds and their quality is significantly less than Aerobed or Coleman. However, if you are in the market for a budget air bed then they are worth a look.

The Intext twin airbed comes with a built in electric pump that is to be used at home. The mattress will inflate in around 3 minutes. Unlike Coleman and Areobed, this extra long twin air mattress is at 80 inches – this makes it ideal for taller people. It is also higher than most other airbeds so you won’t feel like you are sleeping on the floor.

Which One Should You Choose

The reality is your choice of air mattress will depend on your budget and expected use. If you want an airbed that will only be used occasionally as a spare guest bed then a budget mattress should be your choice. However, if you have more money to spend and will be using the mattress regularly, then you should look at a more expensive brand like Aerobed. Those who go camping, should look at Coleman for a camping twin mattress. Finally, if you want to avoid hand or foot pumps to inflate the mattress you will be wanting to look at twin air mattresses with in built pumps.
